What to Expect
What to Expect with Physical Therapy
A physical therapist will evaluate your condition and identify the source of your discomfort or dysfunction. The therapist will then develop a treatment program that will usually include some form of manual therapy and exercise, as well as modalities if needed to treat the problem areas. You will also receive a home exercise program as well as education on proper body mechanics and posture to prevent re-injury.
Ohio law allows Physical Therapists to treat a patient with a referral from a Physician. Your insurance company however may have different guidelines. Check with your Insurance company. If necessary, obtain a prescription for Physical Therapy & Contact Us. The receptionist will pre register you. Get all the necessary information and contact your insurance company to assure that we are an in-network provider. With our extended hours we can offer you a convenient appointment within 24 hours.
Medical insurance generally covers physical therapy treatment. However, each insurance plan is different, and benefits vary with the plan you have. Our staff checks that information and relays it to you. You may want to check it too.
Please plan on coming 15 minutes before the start of your appointment to complete your paperwork. Bring along your physician's referral, your insurance card (if applicable) and wear comfortable clothes.
You will be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist which will include time for your therapist to get to know you so that they may better understand your injury. Each patient's situation is unique and your plan of care will be set up just for you. For future visits, we ask that you schedule two weeks out and let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment.
